This is sort of the anti-’People of SEPTA.’ One of the things I miss most about West Philly is getting the trolley driver who waxes poetic about features of the route over the loudspeaker. It’s pure magic and creates a great, rare bond among morning commuters. His musings are creative and can be mildly psychedelic to boot! Here’s where a little birdie is crowdsourcing ‘SEPTA Poet’ experiences:

Even though Twitter is a poor facsimile of the the whole ‘SEPTA Poet’ experience, it’s all some of us have, is a great service to our fair city and like the poet himself, deserves some shine. There’s a lot of talk about the negativity of SEPTA workers and riders which gets us nowhere and makes it all the more imperative that we celebrate somebody improving the ride with class, style and wit.

Well said, and to be sure, this guy really does have a great turn of phrase. Tell you what, too: Get this guy together with @SEPTA_SURREAL and you have the beginnings of one hell of a party.
