It is perhaps with the same spirit of Philadelphia ingenuity that birthed the hands-free-cellphone-wrapped-in-a-burka thing that we have noticed a new trend in Philly on-the-go telecommunications: Charging one’s phone underneath the handicapped seat on the Market-Frankford line. As it happens and as you can see, there’s an electrical outlet down there and apparently, if the train is running, so too is the outlet pouring out that sweet, sweet phone juice. And who among us has not found ourselves in need while commuting?
The first time we noticed this, we thought, “Oh, you cagey cleverpants!” The second time, we thought, “There’s no way SEPTA approves of this.” And the third time, we thought exactly what we are telling you today: The charge is there. If you need it, take it. Until or unless someone tells you that you can’t.
